The International Congress on Mathematical Education was called ICME,It was called IMU. Its branch organization, the International Committee on math education (ICMI), held an international academic meeting every four years, which was held two years away from the ICM. It was the highest level conference in the international math education circle.
The purpose of the ICME was: (1) to show the latest progress of math education in the world; (2) to exchange relevant information on math education problems in the world; (3) to learn and gain enlightenment from the latest progress of math as a subject.The top prize of international math education, [克莱因] prize, [卡斯泰尔] and Nora Prize were also awarded.
Since the first international math education meeting was held in [里昂], France in 1969, the meeting had been held 13 times.The thirteenth meeting was held in German burger in July 2016.
